Batesville power plant underway

BATESVILLE — LSP Energy LP announced it has finalized financing and begun construction on an 837-megawatt combined cycle generation plant in Batesville.

Two thirds of the power will be sold under a long-term power purchase/tolling arrangement to The Wholesale Power Group, the marketing division of Virginia Electric and Power Company. The rest will be sold to Aquila Power Corp./Utilicorp United Inc. under a similar agreement.
