Just as there are many types of American cuisine, so are there many different kinds of Japanese cooking. In my last column, I reviewed Little Tokyo, a sushi restaurant that specializes in raw fish dishes.

The Bonsai Japanese Steak House is a “teppan yaki” or grilled meat restaurant. The meat is cooked on a stainless steel grill around which the customers are seated.
