The Mississippi Opera Association will open its 54th season Sat., Nov. 14, at 7:30 p.m., at Thalia Mara Hall in Jackson, with Gounod’s “Faust.”
Tenor Michael Hayes will make his Mississippi Opera debut in the title role. Hayes has been a leading tenor with the New York City Opera for the past five years. Other performers include soprano Helen Todd as Marguerite, bass-baritone Dean Elzinga as Mephistopheles and baritone Gary Lehman as Valentin.
