Huffy opens northwest Miss. facility

SOUTHAVEN – Mississippi`s pro-business climate attracted its newest recruit last week as Huffy Bicycle cut the ribbon on its $10-million manufacturing facility.

Gov. Kirk Fordice joined Huffy corporate officials and a number of local dignitaries in the grand opening of the plant, which will initially employ about 130 workers in a process to bend metal tubing to form part of the frame for Huffy`s line of mountain bikes. Total employment over the next two years could reach more than 200.
