Tourism proposal needs retooling

Mayor Harvey Johnson Jr.`s newest proposal to address Jackson`s tourism efforts has little chance of succeeding if he doesn`t allow reasonable participation of local restaurant and hotel/motel industries.

Johnson advocates a nine-member board direct the city`s revamped Convention and Visitors Bureau. He wants to have control over five of the board`s members.
