More than 150 government and business leaders met at the New Capitol for the Governor`s Workforce Development Summit in late December for a meeting called by the Governor`s Special Task Force for Economic Development Planning. It was the first step in bringing together state agencies and local entities to discuss the issue of consolidating 14 agencies that are involved in workforce development.
The goal of the special task force has been to get the issue on the table and not to determine the details of the consolidation.
