Workforce development and elimination of the state inventory tax are two key upcoming legislative issues strongly voiced by members of the Mississippi Economic Council, but 1999 will primarily be a year to focus on long-range concerns, said president Blake Wilson.
“An election year is not the year for blazing new trails,” said Wilson. “We`re more focused this session on the long-term. We`re really going to work on introducing long-term concepts we hope will bear fruit in the years 2000 and 2001.”
