Unity acquires five telecom companies

Jackson-based Unity Communications Inc. has acquired five single-product telecommunications companies. These acquisitions expand Unity’s operating presence to more than 20 market areas across the U.S. with over 220,000 lines in service.

“Overwhelming customer acceptance of the Unity concept, which delivers multiple telecom services through a single source provider, is driving our expansion efforts,” said president and CEO Glynn Ingram. “Market results over the past two years have met or exceeded all expectations, and we are now focused on taking the service to a national scale.”
