Mississippi’s state parks are an often overlooked natural resource. It’s commonplace in many offices around the state this time of year to hear folks planning trips to the mountains of Tennessee or North Carolina or Arkansas, or perhaps to a Gulf beach getaway, but how many people think about a quick afternoon outing or weekend trip to one of Mississippi’s great state parks?

From the Hills, to the Coast, and even in the heart of busy Jackson, the Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries and Parks has a nature trail, cabin or 18-hole golf course waiting for you. Our state parks add immeasurably to the quality of life we enjoy in the Magnolia State, as well as enhancing the multi-billion dollar tourism industry which has been built significantly in the past decade or so.

Whether it’s a family reunion, corporate retreat or just a quick — but peaceful, relaxing and meaningful — walk through the woods, we urge you to consider a trip to a Mississippi state park this summer.

You won’t be disappointed.
