JACKSON — A new brewpub is on tap to open by the end of the year in the Capital City, and news of its arrival is whipping metro beer aficionados into a froth.
Hops Restaurant Bar & Brewery, a Florida-based restaurant known for its signature microbrewery and its relaxed, casual dining experience, will open its first Mississippi location in Jackson this fall. Located at 474 Briarwood Drive, the 6,600-square-foot restaurant will seat more than 200 guests.
“Jackson was selected because it is the retail, entertainment and economic center of Mississippi,” said J.D. Pierce, operating partner for the new restaurant. “It is an oasis that attracts people from surrounding areas, especially to dine and shop. The specific location was chosen because it has excellent visibility and great accessibility from I-55 and a very high passing traffic count. It also has a large concentration of hotels within a two mile radius.”
With the opening of Hops, approximately 80 to 100 jobs will be created, including positions for hosts, bartenders, servers, cooks and kitchen staff.
