HANCOCK COUNTY — Themis Vision Systems is making history this year with the installation of its first system in China. Terms were not disclosed.
The UV Hyperspectral Imaging System will be used for forensics purposes by the top forensics institute in China, No. 2 Institute in Beijing. The system will be used to help with studies in forensic science including finger print analysis.
While in China, Themis will be hosting a symposium for training and demonstration of a visible near-infrared system to current and potential customers. The symposium will be held in Beijing and is sponsored by its distributor, E.C. Ryan International.
“This trip to China really opens a lot of doors for Themis. This system has been several years in the making and to have the opportunity to aid in forensics is really exciting,” said Mark Allen Lanoue, CEO of Themis, which is located in the Stennis Space Center.
