Farmers Market kicks off summer

JACKSON — The Mississippi Farmers Market will celebrate its 2009 Summer Kick-off June 13 from 8 a.m.–2 p.m.

The event will feature the farm-raised fruits and vegetables Mississippi farmers, live music from Ralph Miller, complementary Blue Bell ice cream and personalized caricature drawings from local artist Bob Pennebaker. Also, Chef Martin Bryant of Julep will dish up an array of “market-to-menu” items that can be prepared at home.

The Mississippi Farmers Market, located at 929 High Street adjacent to the Fairgrounds in Jackson, is currently open on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays from 8 a.m.–2 p.m.
