Bill Luckett, an attorney and businessman, announced the formation of Progress for Mississippi.
Progress for Mississippi is a political action committee with a mission of studying policy issues that will impact the state’s future. Ensuring a higher living standard for Mississippi’s citizens and surpassing neighboring states’ rankings in categories such as education, business growth and healthcare are among the broad policy objectives Progress for Mississippi will research.
Progress for Mississippi is based in Clarksdale but has volunteer board members drawn from across the state. Luckett said the newly formed organization is soliciting input from the public at large and will hold town hall meetings and gather data from a diverse cross-section in focus group settings. The organization has a vision of a more progressive, equitable Mississippi.
