ACROSS MISSISSIPPI — The Mississippi State Department of Health (MSDH) reports 22 new cases of H1N1 swine flu for the week of June 15-21, bringing the state’s total number of cases to 105.
The new cases were in Lamar (six), Rankin (four), Covington (two), Madison (two), Chickasaw (one), Forrest (one), Harrison (one), Jackson (one), Lafayette (one), Monroe (one), Warren (one) and Winston (one) counties.
Since MSDH began testing for H1N1 swine flu, cases have been reported in Harrison (23), Jackson (16), Forrest (11), Lamar (10), Rankin (nine), Madison (seven), Hinds (six), Holmes (three), Covington (two), Greene (two), Jones (two), Lowndes (two), Yazoo (two), Lauderdale (two), Chickasaw (one), DeSoto (one), Lafayette (one), Monroe (one), Perry (one), Union (one), Warren (one) and Winston (one) counties.
These numbers include the prior week’s newly reported cases. County numbers may have slightly changed from previous weeks after case investigation and follow-up.
