Workers give Wesley high marks

HATTIESBURG — Wesley Medical Center recently received results from its employee satisfaction survey, and satisfaction scores exceeded company averages as well as national averages in all categories, according to Terry Trigg, director of human resources at Wesley.

The employee satisfaction survey, administered by Healthstream Research, asked 23 questions, which evaluated several key areas related to employees work environment, pay and benefits, supervision, hiring and promotion practices, leadership and quality.

Survey results showed that Wesley employees were more satisfied than the national norm. Based on a four-point scale with four being the most favorable score and one being the least, Wesley rated 3.47 in overall employee satisfaction, well above the 3.11 national average.

“We were so pleased with this year’s survey results,” said Wesley CEO Ron Seal. “Our employees’ job satisfaction is key to the success of our hospital. If we have employees who like what they do, enjoy coming to work and are proud of the organization for which they work, that pays off in a positive way for the patients they serve.”
