PASCAGOULA — Singing River Health System and the Jackson County Chamber of Commerce will celebrate the opening of MedWorks, the first dedicated occupational medicine clinic in Jackson County, with a ribbon-cutting and open house Sept. 3 at 4:30 p.m.
The 4,500-square-foot facility, located on Old Mobile Highway in Pascagoula, provides comprehensive care tailored to meet the needs of industrial workers and employers in Jackson County. Services including hearing and vision testing, drug screening, physical exams, pulmonary function testing, respirator fit tests, x-ray, laboratory collection, electrocardiography (EKG) and physical therapy are available. The clinic will also treat workplace injuries, sprains, strains, minor lacerations and eye injuries.
Dr. John Pessoney, M.D., is the only board-certified occupational medicine specialist in Jackson County, and members of the staff have been certified by the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health in Pulmonary Function Testing and by the Council for Accreditation in Occupational Hearing Conservation.
