MSU unit accredited by EPA
STARKVILLE — The Safety and Environmental Unit (SEU) at Mississippi State University (MSU) now is accredited by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).
The university’s Division of Academic Outreach and Continuing Education has been notified that its SEU now can offer lead-based paint training courses in renovator initial/refresher and dust sampling. Classes will begin in October.
Established in 1988, MSU’s safety and environmental program has been designated by the Mississippi Legislature as the state’s official training provider for all professional certifications in the field of asbestos abatement and management. It also provides training throughout the Southeast.
A full range of EPA-approved asbestos certification programs are offered in all disciplines identified by state regulations. Ranging from campus seminars and conferences to individual consultations, they are available to businesses, government agencies, municipalities and defense facilities that must comply with EPA, Occupational Safety and Health Administration and other regulations.
