Digby recognized in Washington

U.S. Sen. Thad Cochran (R-Miss.) recently recognized the work of Patricia Digby of Fulton, who was subsequently honored in Washington for her dedication to finding adoptive and foster care families for children. Cochran recommended Digby to be the 2009 Angel in Adoption from Mississippi as part of the Congressional Coalition on Adoption Institute’s “Angels in Adoption” program.

Digby is the division director for the Harden House Adoption Program  in Tupelo as well as the Partners in Permanency Program, a post-adoption support program for adoptive and foster families. A graduate of the University of Southern Mississippi, Digby helped establish both organizations after beginning her career as a state social worker for abused and neglected children. More recently, Digby has been involved with the Mississippi Department of Mental Health concerning the fetal alcohol spectrum disorder that affects many foster and adopted children. She has also spearheaded the development of the Wendy’s Wonderful Kids Partnership.
