Entrepreneur, ex-gaming regulator dies
INDIANOLA — W.W. “Bill” Gresham Jr., president of Gresham Petroleum Co. in Indianola and one of three original members of the Mississippi Gaming Commission when it was created in 1993, has died in an Indianola hospital. He was 84.
Officials with Boone Card Funeral Home in Indianola say Gresham died at South Sunflower Community Hospital.
Funeral arrangements were pending. A list of survivors was not immediately available.
Gresham’s family has been in the petroleum business since the 1920s, and Gresham Petroleum has grown into one of the largest petroleum distributors in the Southeast. The company also operates several convenience stores called Double Quick.
Gresham served eight years on the Gaming Commission, including a stint as its chairman.
