Kell stepping down as GM of Pascagoula Refinery
PASCAGOULA — Chevron Corp. announced yesterday that there would be a change of leadership at the Pascagoula Refinery.
General manager Roland Kell is retiring. Taking his place will be Tom Kovar, general manager of the company’s Pembroke refinery in Wales.
The Wales property is one the company recently announced it would consider selling as part of a corporate overhaul to make the refinery and marketing end of the business more lucrative. At the same time, Chevron said it plans to go forward with an expansion at the Pascagoula Refinery.
The refinery employs 1,500, and Kell has been at the helm since 2002, bringing it through two major expansions and the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina.
