County borrowing money for roadwork

JACKSON COUNTY — Jackson County supervisors will borrow $8 million for local roadwork.

Supervisor John McKay says most of the money will be spent to widen the two-lane Tucker Road to four lanes from Interstate 10 north to the Latimer Community Center.

McKay says the county had previously received state aid money for phases two and three of the project but the money was shifted to other projects.

McKay expects the widening project to be complete within 18 months.
