MOSS POINT — Federal prosecutors say Moss Point residents LaTanicia McMillan Rogers and Wayne Rogers have been convicted of conspiracy to defraud the U.S. and theft of government funds.
U.S. Attorney Donald R. Burkhalter said on Monday the two were involved in a health care fraud scheme in which they billed Medicare for more than $18 million for physical therapy services they fraudulently claimed were being performed by a licensed doctor.
LaTanicia Rogers was also convicted of three more counts of health care fraud and two counts of making a false statement relating to health care.
The Sun Herald reports the defendants will be sentenced Aug. 2 in Gulfport.
