JACKSON —  The Mississippi Department of Marine Resources will limit the sale of oyster licenses for the 2010-11 oyster season.

The plan will limit the number of commercial oyster licenses available for sale in each of the four major categories: resident dredging and tonging, and out-of-state dredging and tonging.

The Sun Herald reports harvesters must provide current vessel documentation or registration, proof of residency of the boat owner and proper identification of boat captain.
