Fletcher B. Harges has been named superintendent of the Forest Municipal School District. Harges had been principal of Hawkins Middle School in Forest.
Harges will succeed Raymond Clark who hired him last year to take the reins at Hawkins Middle School. Harges has signed a two-year contract effective July 1.
Harges said he is working on finding a new principal to take his place at Hawkins.
The 37-year-old Harges came to Forest after serving as principal of the middle school at Bay Springs. The Grenada native earned a bachelor’s degree in history at Mississippi Valley State University. He got a master’s degree in education and later a specialist degree at the University of Mississippi.
