Hospital gets gift from Forrest General

TYLERTOWN — Walthall County General Hospital (WCGH) in Tylertown is now home to faster, more advanced computed tomography (CT) scanning technology, thanks to a donation from Forrest General Hospital in Hattiesburg.

Forrest General gave WCGH a 16-slice GE Pro Speed CT Scanner. This scanner offers improved scanning technology, updating WCGH’s equipment and giving staff the capability of performing four to five scans per hour, instead of one to two.

WCGH administrator Jimmy Graves said, “The faster scanning capability and the ability to do more complex procedures will greatly enhance our E.R. trauma diagnostic capability. The availability locally to this newer technology will further the hospital’s mission of providing quality diagnostic care.”
