WASHINGTON — The National Association of Manufacturers (NAM) says Toyota resuming construction of its plant in Blue Springs is not only good for the state, but also for the entire automobile industry.
NAM president John Engler issued the following statement:
“The NAM is pleased by Toyota’s news that it will finish construction of its nearly completed Mississippi plant, bringing much-needed jobs to the area. (This) announcement is a positive step for the auto industry and Mississippi, which stands to gain 2,000 new jobs. As the economy continues to recover, the auto industry remains critical to a manufacturing renewal that will create new quality jobs and grow the economy.”
