PSC fines Texas company for 'No-Call' violation

JACKSON — Public Service Commission chairman Brandon Presley (D-Nettleton) announced that the Mississippi Public Service Commission has fined a Texas telemarketer $45,000 for violations of the Mississippi “No-Call” law and rules associated with enforcing the law.

Presley said Mobile Marketing Solutions of Houston violated the “No-Call” law by failing to register and purchase the state’s “No-Call” list and for contacting consumers that had registered on the “No-Call” list. Company representatives failed to respond to the commission’s complaint.

Presley said that the company would be prohibited from making any calls to Mississippians as a telephone solicitor and from purchasing the “No-Call” list until the civil penalties are paid in full.
