Ex-TVA project manager sentenced to probation
KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — A federal judge has sentenced a former Tennessee Valley Authority project manager to one year of probation in a conflict of interest case.
Dennis S. Painter of Franklin worked as a technical services project manager in TVA’s economic development section and pleaded guilty in January to violating the federal conflict of interest law.
U.S. District Judge Thomas W. Phillips sentenced Painter last Friday. Painter’s attorney, Travis Hawkins, did not immediately return messages seeking comment.
Records show Painter in 2005 approved invoices from the Center for Economic Development and Resource Stewardship, known as CEDARS, after loaning “startup money” to CEDARS.
