COLUMBUS and GOODMAN — Holmes Community College has signed an agreement to partner with V3 College, Mississippi University for Women’s (MUW) new online college.
As part of the agreement, Holmes and V3 will work together to educate students. V3 offers degree completion programs to community college students who have an associate’s degree in applied sciences.
V3 College provides students a path to finish their bachelor’s degree in as little as 18 months.
Sherrie Cheek, vice president for career-technical education at Holmes, says she is impressed by V3 College’s vision to provide an avenue for their graduates to seek advanced degrees.
“The creation of V3 is evidence of the forward thinking of the college’s administration and shows the value that the college places on career/technical education,” said Cheek. “I believe that the opportunities provided to graduates through V3 will serve to validate and illuminate the quality of career/technical education in the state of Mississippi.”
V3 College has also signed agreements with Mississippi Delta Community College and East Mississippi Community College.
V3 College is the newest campus at MUW and is accredited by the Association of Collegiate Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP) and Southern Association of College and Schools (SACS) through MUW. The online degree programs are geared towards working professionals, adult learners needing to acquire new skill sets or to update skill sets, and community college students seeking to complete their four-year degrees.
V3 College is now accepting applications. Classes begin in August.
