Interim JSU president shuffles administration
JACKSON — Just weeks after taking over as interim president of Jackson State, Leslie Burl McLemore is making administrative changes.
The Clarion-Ledger reports McLemore has switched up JSU’s top academic and finance posts that were set by then-president Ronald Mason Jr. in November.
Quinton Williams, who has been chairman of the physics, atmospheric sciences and geosciences department, now is interim provost and vice president for academic and student affairs.
Michael Thomas, former deputy superintendent for operations at Jackson Public Schools, is now interim vice president for business and finance.
McLemore, who retired from Jackson State last year after nearly 40 years, said both areas are among the university’s most important and deserve their own leaders.
