Telemarketer fined for 'No-Call' violations

JACKSON — Public Service Commission chairman Brandon Presley (D-Nettleton) announced that the Mississippi Public Service Commission has fined a California telemarketer $35,000 for violations of the Mississippi “No-Call” law and rules associated with enforcing the law.

Presley said C1F of Irvine, Calif., violated the No-Call law by failing to register and purchase the state’s No-Call list and for contacting consumers that had registered on the list.

Company representatives failed to respond to the Commission’s complaint.

Presley noted that the company will be prohibited from making any calls to Mississippians as a telephone solicitor and from purchasing the No-Call list until the civil penalties are paid in full.
