Four telemarketers fined for ‘No-Call’ violations
JACKSON — Mississippi Public Service Commission (PSC) chairman Brandon Presley (D-Nettleton) announced that the PSC has fined four telemarketers a total of $110,000 for violations of the Mississippi “No-Call” law and rules associated with enforcing the law.
Presley said the companies violated the law by failing to register and purchase the state’s No-Call list and for contacting consumers that had registered on the list. Company representatives failed to respond to the Commission’s complaint.
Presley said that the companies would be prohibited from making any calls to Mississippians as a telephone solicitor and from purchasing the No-Call list until the civil penalties are paid in full.
The companies fined are: U. S. Fidelis (d/b/a National Auto Warranty Services Inc.), $50,000; Super Timeshare Resales Inc., $15,000; Brian Tisdale (d/b/a Medco Solutions), $15,000; On Point Media Inc., $15,000; and, Statewide Financial Group Inc., $15,000.
