MSH workers recognized for service

Mississippi State Hospital recently honored employees with November anniversary dates for their years of service. Barbara Thomas of Jackson was recognized for providing 20 years of service. Thomas, a Rolling Fork native, is a certified nurse assistant in Jaquith Nursing Home, located on the grounds of Mississippi State Hospital

Hank Laird of Ridgeland was recognized for providing 25 years of service. Laird works in the Personnel Department at the hospital and is a graduate of Mississippi College.

Lucy Walker of Jackson was recognized for providing 25 years of service. Walker, an Indianola native, is a social worker at the hospital.  She has a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Tougaloo College.

Other MSH employees honored were Barbara Hill (five years), Lela Tucker (five years), Charles Peterson (15 years) and Annette Hibbler, 10 years.

Service Awards are given to employees in the month of their date of hire, beginning with five years and every fifth year following. Employees receive a certificate of appreciation and a Service Award pin. The program is sponsored by Friends of Mississippi State Hospital Inc.
