PSC fines telemarketer for ‘No-Call’ violations
JACKSON — Public Service Commission chairman Brandon Presley (D-Nettleton) announced that the Mississippi Public Service Commission has fined M. A. Infinity Marketing Inc. of Garfield Heights, Ohio, $50,000 for violations of the Mississippi “No-Call” law and rules associated with enforcing the law.
Presley said the company violated the “No-Call” law by failing to register and purchase the state’s “No-Call” list, for contacting consumers that had registered on the “No-Call” list and for utilizing an automated dialing system to communicate with the consumer.
Company representatives failed to respond to the Commission’s complaint.
Presley noted that the company will be prohibited from making any calls to Mississippians as a telephone solicitor and from purchasing the “No-Call” list until the civil penalties are paid in full.
