Simkins changing career from law to insurance

PASCAGOULA — Brenda H. Simkins will be a new State Farm agent and is assuming the Don McKee office in Pascagoula. Simkins’ office will continue to be located at 1303 South Market Street, and she has set Jan. 3 as her opening day.

Simkins claims Cleveland and Hammond, La as her hometown. She holds a bachelors of business administration from the University of Mississippi School of Business and a juris doctorate from the University of Mississippi School of Law.

For the past 15 years, she has been an attorney in private practice. She was formerly a partner in the law firm of Hartweg, Turner, Wood and Simkins, P.C., and Brenda H. Simkins & Associates, where the focus of her practice was civil litigation, estate planning and real estate.

Simkins is member of the Jackson County Chamber of Commerce.

She and her husband, Steve, reside in Pascagoula with their three children, Layken (9), Parker (4) and Sawyer (2).
