Mayhall giving up seat in Legislature

SOUTHAVEN — Rep. Ted Mayhall, a Republican from Southaven, says he will not seek re-election.

Mayhall has served two terms in the Mississippi House.

The Commercial Appeal reports the 71-year-old Mayhall wants to spend more time with his seven grandchildren and he and his wife want to travel.

House District 40 is located in DeSoto County.
