U. S. Army Corps of Engineers’ Vicksburg District employees Patricia R. Hemphill and Phillip C. Rogers were recent recipients of the Modern Day Technology Leadership Award. This award is presented annually in Washington, D. C., as part of the Black Engineer of the Year Award program to engineers who have made significant contributions in technology and/or leadership.
Hemphill is assistant division chief of the Program and Project Management Division. She received a B.S. degree in civil engineering from Mississippi State University, completed the Army Management Staff College program of Sustaining Base Leadership Management and Harvard University’s Executive Education Program. She is a registered professional engineer in the State of Mississippi.
Rogers is employed as a civil engineer in the Design Branch of the Engineering and Construction Division. He received a bachelor of science from the University of Mississippi.
