Sherry Rainey, the regional president for CredAbility in Central Mississippi, has been named the winner of the organization’s 2010 “Creating Connections” award. The award is given annually to the CredAbility employee who initiates and maintains sustainable relationships in their community and exemplifies the organization’s values of integrity, innovation and compassion to people in their communities.
Rainey oversees the agency’s Jackson office and is responsible for marketing and fund-raising activities in the region. Rainey joined CredAbility in 2008.
She is a past recipient of the American Cancer Society’s Shining Light Award for Mississippi. She was also a winner of the American Cancer Society, Mid-South Division, Accommodation of Excellence award.
Prior to joining CredAbility, Rainey was director of community outreach for the American Red Cross where she coordinated and developed plans for volunteer-based services. She also served as community advocacy representative for the American Cancer Society, where she developed support for community health programs and local policy campaigns.
Rainey lives in Madison and is a graduate of Mississippi State University.
