Boyd Gaming gives update on idled Sam's Town

TUNICA — Boyd Gaming Corporation has released a statement on Sam’s Town Hotel and Gambling Hall in Tunica, which has been idled by the flooding Mississippi River, as well as the company’s plans on employee pay during the ongoing closure:

“Boyd Gaming has been paying Sam’s Town employees in full since we closed on May 1, and we are happy to confirm that we’ll continue this pay through Sunday, May 22. While we do not yet know exactly how long we will remain closed, we are tentatively planning on calling employees back to work starting Monday, May 23 to prepare for a reopening on Friday, May 27. Although the grounds and roadways around Sam’s Town Tunica flooded, we are fortunate that the building itself has not experienced significant damage,” said Paul Chakmak, COO.
