FBI indicts Biglanes for attempt to bribe Brown

JACKSON — The Mississippi Department of Transportation reports the Federal Bureau of Investigation has indicted Kenny Biglane and his son, Peter Biglane, on federal bribery charges.

According to the federal indictment, it is alleged in 2009 Kenny Biglane proposed an illegal business arrangement to former MDOT executive director Larry L. “Butch” Brown. Brown immediately contacted the MDOT Office of Enforcement, which contacted the FBI.

MDOT said it and Brown assisted the FBI with this investigation.

To ensure the defendants’ presumption of innocence and right to a fair trial MDOT said it would not release any further information.
