Harlow’s closure leaving Greenville with no open casinos

GREENVILLE — Harlow’s Casino Resort & Hotel in Greenville will temporarily close to the public effective Friday at 10 p.m. due to concerns over rising water levels and flooding along the Mississippi River, according to the casino’s owner, Churchill Downs Inc.

The Board of Mississippi Levee Commissioners has declared a state of emergency due to expected flooding along the Mississippi River basin and has directed Harlow’s and a number of other casinos near the river to close for business until further notice.

Churchill Downs Inc. said Harlow’s, which is located just outside of Greenville near the U.S. 82 Mississippi River bridge, would reopen as soon as authorized to do so by Mississippi state officials.

Greenville’s other two casinos, Lighthouse Point Casino and the Jubilee Casino, both owned by Tropicana Entertainment Inc. and located on the Greenville downtown waterfront, have already announced they are closing.
