Coast man arrested for selling counterfeit products

BILOXI — Mississippi’s Counterfeit Goods Task Force has put a Biloxi man behind bars for selling counterfeit CDs and DVDs, according to Attorney General Jim Hood.
Investigators with the Mississippi Attorney General’s Office Consumer Protection Division arrested Richard Earl Tyler, 51, on five counts of distribution of CD/DVDs without the display of required information, a violation of Mississippi Code Ann. Section 97-23-89.
The Attorney General’s Office investigation against Tyler stemmed from an aggravated assault case that the Biloxi Police Department initiated against him. During the investigation of Tyler’s aggravated assault case, the Biloxi Police Department uncovered a substantial amount of counterfeit CD/DVDs. Biloxi PD then contacted Homeland Security Investigations, a member of the Mississippi Attorney General’s Office Knock Out Knock-Offs task force, which then contacted the Mississippi Attorney General’s Office.
The joint task force investigation of Tyler by Homeland Security and the Mississippi Attorney General’s Office has taken over 13,000 illegal CD/DVD off the streets and out of circulation on the underground black market for this type of contraband.
Tyler was booked into the Biloxi jail. If convicted, he faces up to three years in prison, a $10,000 fine or both on each count (for a total potential of 15 years in prison, a $50,000 fine, or both).
As with all cases, the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.

Everything we do to have fun or make money is illegal or impossible. I would love to see the Mississippi Constitution ripped up and destroyed because it does not apply to all men at all times. Therefore it shall be void just like the Articles of Confederation.
