CHOCTAW — The FBI conducted a search yesterday at the Pearl River Resorts run by the Mississippi Band of Choctaw Indians in Neshoba County.
Neither the FBI nor the tribe would say what the FBI was looking for.
The resort, which includes the Silver Star and Golden Moon casinos, did not close, Paul Harvey, the chief executive officer of the resort, said in a statement released yesterday by the tribe.
The FBI in Jackson told the AP that it would have no comment on the reports.
“The Resort is monitoring the situation closely and will continue to cooperate fully with law enforcement authorities in their investigation. There will be no interruption in the operation of business at the resort,” Harvey said.
The Neshoba Democrat reported the Choctaw Tribal Council was briefed yesterday on an FBI investigation underway at Pearl River Resort.
Choctaw attorney General Donald L. Kilgore told the council they needed to discuss “why the FBI is here.”
The meeting adjourned a couple of minutes later.
