JACKSON — Authorities have announced the creation of the Mississippi Intellectual Property Crimes Center, a website to help consumers recognize and report counterfeit goods.

Mississippi Attorney General Jim Hood made the announcement today in a news release. Hood says members of the public can access the site and there’s a secure section for law enforcement agencies.

The National White Collar Crime Center, a training project funding by the U.S. Justice Department, helped develop the website and law enforcement database.

Hood says the site is the first of its kind for a state attorney general’s office.
