STARKVILLE — The Mississippi State University Extension Service and Southern Rural Development Center will partner to begin a digital literacy program to increase broadband adoption across the state.
Gov. Haley Barbour says the program will be based on the statewide broadband plan under development by the Mississippi Broadband Connect Coalition and to be released later this year.
Barbour says the Extension Broadband Education and Adoption Team, or e-BEAT, will assess broadband access and use in Mississippi’s communities and host local public meetings to educate residents about the benefits of broadband access and adoption.
The e-BEAT team includes state and regional extension service staff, representatives from the Southern Rural Development Center and MSU’s Computer Applications and Services and School of Human Sciences.

We live in the Nesbit area on Sportsman Dr. Our only access now is with Air cards through the phone company. These cards are not very fast or reliable.
Please expand fiber, or G4 service at least, to all areas of Mississippi.
Thanks…
