SOUTH MISSISSIPPI — Crime Stoppers is offering a reward of up to $2,000 for information leading to an arrest in connection with a rash of copper thefts from power company substations throughout South Mississippi.

The Sun Herald reports the latest theft occurred either late Sunday night or in the early-morning hours Monday at the Mississippi Power Company substation Hancock County.

Crime Stoppers spokesman and Pascagoula police Sgt. Doug Adams says video surveillance footage caught images of the suspect.

The theft is the latest in a string of copper thefts from substations belonging to Mississippi Power, Coast Electric, serving Harrison County, and Singing River Electric, serving Jackson and George counties.
