Joachim named president

Elizabeth Joachim

Elizabeth Joachim, vice chair of the Mississippi Home Corporation’s (MHC’s) board of directors, has been named president of the National Council of State Housing Boards (NCSHB). Joachim was appointed to MHC’s board in 2000 and is the agency’s longest-serving current member.

Joachim is a native of Biloxi and owner of Corso’s Inc., an 87-year-old wholesale and vending machine company. She received the 2005 Coast Chamber Tapestry Award for Minority Outstanding Small Business, the 2007 Tapestry Award for Small E Business Executive of the Year and the 2005 Southern Liberty Award for Legislative involvement. She graduated the Mississippi Leadership program in 2009 and was awarded the Keys to the City of Biloxi for serving as chairman of Biloxi Community Development Commission for 15 years. She was recently named one of South Mississippi’s Outstanding Community Leaders Class of 2010 by the Sun Herald.
