Miss. Technology Alliance holds 12th annual conference

At the Mississippi Technology Alliance’s 12th Annual Conference on Technology Innovation last week executives gathered at Jackson Convention Complex to discuss innovation in business and learn about projects from new Mississippi entrepreneurs.

MTA is a state-sponsored, non-profit organization that works to drive innovation and technology-based economic development for the state. MTA assists entrepreneurs in developing business plans and connecting them with investors.

Keynote luncheon speaker Jim Barksdale, Jackson native and former president and CEO of Netscape Communications, spoke on the importance of education and outlined recommendations in a new plan by Blueprint Mississippi, a privately funded public-private partnership supported in part by the Mississippi Economic Council.

Angel investing experts Monty O-Neal, owner of an Alabama investment banking firm, and Dr. Les Goff of the University of Southern Mississippi and CEO of Noetic Technologies Inc., encouraged entrepreneurs to work on their business plans, follow their budgets and be careful to manage cash flow.

Entrepreneurs made presentations including an e-commerce solution for multi-channel selling, an online fundraising tool integrating social media, health care solutions and a three-wheel motorcycle suspension system.

We do it because it is important to us … and equally important to you, if you value the flow of trustworthy news and information which have always kept America strong and free for more than 200 years.
