Six defendants to plead guilty to trafficking drugs

GULFPORT — The last of six alleged middlemen accused in a prescription conspiracy case involving a former Stone County surgeon selling prescriptions for pain pills and anxiety medication intends to plead guilty in the case. That’s according to U.S. District Court records.

Kevin Anderson was one of six accused in a federal indictment of obtaining prescriptions from former surgeon Je Song. The middlemen allegedly sold the prescriptions for as much as $400 each. The Sun Herald reports a hearing is tentatively set for tomorrow in Anderson’s case.

In October, Song pleaded guilty to one count of selling prescriptions as part of the conspiracy. In exchange for his plea, 34 other counts against Song were dismissed.
