BAY ST. LOUIS — Nearly 6 1/2 years after Hurricane Katrina destroyed it, a Bay St. Louis waterfront restaurant is about to reopen on the beachfront.

WLOX-TV reports Trapani’s Eatery has been rebuilt from the ground up. The two-story restaurant is expected to open in about a month.

It will be the second restaurant to open on the Bay St. Louis beachfront since Katrina struck in August 2005.

The 200 North Beach Restaurant opened three months ago. City leaders say a third restaurant is expected to open soon in the French Settlement building.

Mayor Les Fillingame says construction of a multi-million dollar harbor boat marina is scheduled to begin early in January.
